Uzbekistan is not intending to abandon the crypto-currency in near future as Bitcoins are expected to be further used in the market of the country.
“We have no problems with crypto-currency at the moment and we haven’t received any instructions prohibiting the Bitcoins,” Valeriy Djurayev, an advisor at the Republican Stock Exchange of Uzbekistan, told Trend.
Commenting on the widely debated Blockchain technology, which attracts the attention of a number of countries worldwide, Djurayev said the Republican Stock Exchange and the government agencies of Uzbekistan follow innovations, and the acquisition and implementation of this technology in Uzbekistan is possible in near future.
Previously, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued a special statement on crypto-currencies, advising people not to use them.
But the Central Bank said nothing about any prohibitive measures.
Despite commonly positive reaction around the world towards the crypto-currencies and their wide use, they are considered controversial because their possible use for funding of terrorist or other criminal groups.
